Railing Run Planner

Enter your railing one post-to-post section at a time and this figures posts, rails, spindles and mounting hardware - stairs included, measured on the slope.

How to use it

Give each section's length, 8 ft maximum. Tick “stairs” on a sloped section and give run and rise instead. Then pick the rail stock, spindle style and how the rails mount.

What you'll get

Post count, rail sticks with the cuts already packed, spindle counts, brackets, and a priced list you can adjust before it goes to the cart.

Enter each post-to-post section (max 8 ft — that's the post spacing). A corner just shares a post: enter each side as its own section, no extra parts. Tick "stairs" on a section and give run + rise — the tool figures the rail length along the slope, and that section gets 26-inch stair spindles. 3-inch spindles at max 7-inch centers so no gap passes a 4-inch sphere. Local code may differ — we'll confirm by phone before anything ships.
